Expert Talk on “Digital Intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things”

The Centre for Distance and Online Education conducted yet another interesting webinar on 06^th April 2024, on the topic Digital Intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things. The resource person of the webinar was Mr. Manan Chandna, Chief Product Officer at Honewell MMS.

Mr. Manan at the outset, deliberarted upon, the digital intersection of AI and IoT that represents the seamless integration of intelligent algorithms and interconnected devices. He also talked about that how AI empowers IoT devices with cognitive capabilities, enabling them to analyze vast amounts of data, extract actionable insights, and make autonomous decisions in real-time.

This symbiotic relationship enhances the efficiency, responsiveness, and intelligence of IoT ecosystems across diverse domains, including healthcare, manufacturing, transportation, and smart cities.

During the webinar, the new feature i.e. the integration of AI and IoT unlocks transformative also was a focus of discussion.  Mr. Manan emphasized that how in healthcare, AI-powered IoT devices facilitate remote patient monitoring, predictive analytics for disease prevention, and personalized treatment recommendations. Similarly, in manufacturing, AI-driven IoT systems optimize production processes, predict equipment failures, and enable proactive maintenance, thereby enhancing productivity and reducing downtime.

The resource person also threw light on several emerging trends are shaping the future of the digital intersection of AI and IoT. He deliberated on Edge computing is gaining prominence, enabling real-time data processing and analysis at the network’s edge, thereby reducing latency and bandwidth requirements.

The webinar was a great success as huge participants attended it and after the talk, an open house discussion had taken place in which online learners of CDOE along with various faculty members had an open talk on this interesting topic. Mr. Manan also expressed his gratitude towards CDOE.
