About This Course

Qualitative research helps develop deep insights which enable one to understand how the sample perceives certain situations, scenarios, concepts or products. Through this course, the student will learn tools and techniques in order to conduct rigorous qualitative research. The student will learn ways of collecting data as well as conduct analysis of the same

Observation

An observation is a data collection method, by which you gather knowledge of the researched phenomenon through making observations of the phenomena, as and when it occurs. Observation is a technique that involves systematically selecting, watching, listening, reading, touching, and recording behavior and characteristics of living beings, objects, or phenomena
Assignment 1

Focus Group Discussion

A focus group discussion involves gathering people from similar backgrounds or experiences together to discuss a specific topic of interest. It is a form of qualitative research where questions are asked about their perceptions attitudes, beliefs, opinion or ideas. In focus group discussion participants are free to talk with other group members; unlike other research methods it encourages discussions with other participants

Narrative Analysis

Narrative analysis is a genre of analytic frames whereby researchers interpret stories that are told within the context of research and/or are shared in everyday life. These elements include, but are not limited to, how the story is structured, what functions the story serves, what is the substance of the story, and how the story is performed.
