About This Course

Biological Basis of Behavior course examines the relationship between biology, behavior and mental processes, in particular the role of the brain and nervous system. It is specifically designed for anyone interested in biology and human Behavior.

Learning Objectives

Identify basic brain structures and functional neural systems.
Describe the process of signaling between nerve cells including chemical neurotransmitters. Compare and contrast the role of neurotransmitters.
Describe the process of neural development and the role of plasticity in development and recovery of function.
Describe and evaluate behavioural and neurobiological mechanism involved in associative learning and memory formation, and emotional behaviour.
